Cold terror gripped the heart of a GI as mortar rounds whistled overhead, rifles cracked, and the enemy closed in. Suddenly he felt ripping pains as a bullet tore into his chest and arm. Yet it wasn't the end for this soldier. According to an article in The New York Times, the bullet was slowed by a New Testament he was carrying in his shirt pocket. This is a nice story, but it says nothing about the life-saving spiritual help the Bible was designed to give. In Ezekiel 33, we read that the ancient Israelites used the words of the prophets to make them feel good but not to change their lives. They took passages out of context to support their confidence. They found pleasure in listening to the words of the prophet, yet the Lord said, "They hear your words, but they do not do them." The result -- divine judgment.  God's Word is not to be cherished as a good-luck charm or to soothe the mind by bringing temporary relief from anxiety. It was given to be obeyed so that its help would not be just for this life--but forever.

Steady the Knees That Give Way

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, 
he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 

This Scripture from Isaiah chapter 35 was given to me when I first awakened this morning. And then I heard the Spirit tell me to send it out to all of you. There are difficult days ahead. They will be days that will shake the faith of many, and will cause some to approach you for help or for understanding. The above Scripture is our instruction for those days. In the strength imparted to us by the Holy Spirit, we are to strengthen feeble hands all around us. In the faith produced by staying on our own knees in prayer, we are to steady the knees that give way.

When you need encouragement go encourage others. When you feel fearful, go and speak faith to those who are fearful. Tell them about our Righteous King who is coming soon to save His people. Tell them He is a Person, not a religion! Through your steadying of others, you will be steadied. Through your strengthening of others, you will be strong. By living out the Pure Gospel of Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus Christ), and His love, the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

• Prime Minister Netanyahu meets with President Obama! We are one week into the difficult time for Israel known as "The Time between Dire Straights." This time period began this year with a disastrous meeting between Israeli Minister of Industry and Trade Binyamin Ben Eliezer and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu that has severely shaken the Israeli coalition government led by Netanyahu. Tomorrow Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Obama. It is a crucial, historic meeting. We therefore urge all of you to watch in prayer. If you can fast please do so! For Israel there has never been a worse president in the White House than President Obama. We began to warn about this already in 2007 and our warnings have more than come true. Obama is a Muslim in disguise, with extreme Marxist views, who is rapidly changing the United States in these directions. Mid-term elections are, however, coming up in a few months and there is a unique opportunity right now for Netanyahu to stand up and refuse to go along with Obama's evil policies to hand the Jewish people over to their Muslim enemies. At Netanyahu's first time in office as Prime Minister, 1996 to 1999, an evil plot was made up by the Labor party in Israel onPresident Clinton's behalf, which forced Netanyahu to give upHebron to the Palestinians. After that Netanyahu eventually lost his position as Prime Minister. The present situation is very similar and we need to stand in the gap and pray! When President Clinton attempted to push Netanyahu to establish a Palestinian state, the Monica Lewinsky affair broke out and Clinton had to put his plans on hold. God can do it again! • Pray that God will intervene with his mighty hand and stop Obama's plans to destroy Israel!"The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations." (Ps 33:10-11) • Pray that God will be merciful and move on Netanyahu to make the right strategic decision for Israel at this historic, crucial time! "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." (Dan 2:20-21) • Pray that Obama's evil agenda will be exposed to weaken him! "He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." (Dan 2:22) • Pray that God will give Netanyahu strength and boldness to stand up and refuse to give in to Obama's pressures! "David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God." (1 Sam 30:6) • Pray that Netanyahu and the Jewish people will turn to God at this difficult time! "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chr 7:14) God bless you as watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem!
